Current Issues in Real Estate Development

Mr. Stam will talk about the issues that investors shall be aware of in the development process, and most recent issues in  land  condemnation  and  the  new  statutes of limitation on  land  use  violations.

Mr. Stam’s BIO:

Paul “Skip” Stam recently completed 16 years in the State House, the last 10 years serving as Republican Leader and then Speaker Pro Tem.  For 41 years he has lived and has practiced law in Apex, he has closed approximately 5000 real estate transactions.

He received a B.S. with High Honors in Criminal Justice from Michigan State (1972) and the JD from UNC – Chapel Hill School of Law (1975).

He taught law at varieties of law schools such as Campbell University, the Foreign Trade Institute in Tianjin, China and Xi Ke Da University in Mianyang, China. He also gave continuing legal education lectures on different types of law from time to time. Mr. Stam is actively posting articles and books as well.

In his law practice he spends most of his time on real estate transactions and litigation and state constitutional law.  While in the General Assembly his areas of focus were real estate, criminal, pro-life, school choice and other educational initiatives at all levels.  His website www.paulstam.info has voluminous information on current issues.
