Seminar: Patent Process and Strategy
North Carolina Chinese Business Association (NCCBA) is proud to present: Patent
Process and Strategy (Presented in English)
Want to patent your ideas but don't know how? Join NCCBA on May 31st and get
educated in how the whole patenting process works and potentially turn your
ideas into profitable ventures.
In this seminar, the speakers who are also practicing patent attorneys will
start by providing a general overview of various forms of intellectual property
(IP), including patent, copyright, trademark, and trade secret, and then focus
on patent-related IP issues. Specifically, the speakers will discuss the processes
of filing and prosecuting a patent application and the substantive and formality
requirements for obtaining patent protection. They will also provide advice
on patent portfolio management, strategic decision-making in patenting process,
the potential infringement liability associated with a new product or process,
and what to expect in a patent litigation.
Following the 45-minute lecture, the patent attorneys will join a panel of
entrepreneurs who had gone through the patenting process and, through their
own perspectives, address questions from the audience based on their own knowledge
and experience in the patenting considerations and lessons learned.
