Dear NCCBA members and friends:

Fulfilling one of the pillars of the NC Chinese Business Association's mission - "Assistance", this NCCBA event features two successful entrepreneurs who will share their experiences with the necessary balance of technician, manager, AND entrepreneur, as described in the book, E-Myth, by Michael Gerber. In today's competitive and fast-paced environment, technical merit is not enough. What does it really take? Be inspired by the expertise, business savvy, personal vision and fortitude of our speakers:

Giles Shih, President and Co-Founder of BioResource International, a Triangle-based global biotech enterprise that harnesses the natural powers of enzymes for agricultural and industrial improvements. Dr. Shih has overseen business development efforts since the company's inception in November 1999 and served as a consultant for venture capital firms with investments in the biotechnology industry. Dr. Shih was recognized with the Triangle Business Journal's "40 under 40: Leadership Award.

James Zhou, VP for R&D at TechExcel, an international IT company that develops and supports Application Lifecycle Management and CRM software. Mr. Zhou is one of the rare individuals who can truly unite business processes, product management techniques, and lead teams. Prior to joining TechExcel, Zhou was lead software engineer for the Service Information Systems Division of Caterpillar, Inc. and a senior software engineer at Synon, now Computer Associates.

Moderator Cyndy Yu-Robinson will cover the principles of E-Myth, entrepreneurial challenges and insights as a new business owner. Cyndy started in June to work as principal of Creative Cause Marketing + PR, a strategic communication company specializing in sustainability, corporate social responsibility, and good words for good works. .
